In addition to automatic event detection, Smartpricing offers the ability to add further events, both local and non-local, allowing you to modify their weight on the prices of individual days for their entire duration. This weight, influences the price suggested by the strategy and will appear in the Calendar, when hovering the mouse over the (i) in the price cell, with the justification Events.
If there are multiple events on the same date, iyour events always take precedence over those detected by Smartpricing. Furthermore, in general, only the impact with the highest value is applied.
How do I create a new event in the Calendar?
To create a new event in the Calendar, expand the Events & Holidays panel located above the room types in the Calendar by clicking on the downward-facing arrow.
Now you can click on Add event to initialize the configuration on the screen.
At this point, you can enter:
- The name of the event, to identify it in the Calendar
- The Accommodations assigned to your account to which you want to add the event
- The Days & Impact, to decide the duration of the event and the impact in % on the single day or selected period. Please note: The chosen % is a percentage increase on the suggested price (starting price + elaborated strategy). Setting it to 100% on a suggested price of €100 would make it €200, effectively doubling it.
- You can add multiple periods or days with different impacts by clicking on Add impact for each different period.
Please note: The event's impact, being part of the strategies, applies to all room types within the selected property.
Once you click Save in the top right, the event will appear immediately in the Calendar, with the prices updated.
How do I modify an existing event in the Calendar?
To modify an existing event in the Calendar, after identifying it in the Events & Holidays bar above the room types in the Calendar, you can click on it to open the event's customization panel.
By clicking on Edit in the panel that opens, you can edit the following information:
- The name of the event, to identify it in the Calendar
- The Days & Impact, to decide the duration of the event and the impact in % on the single day or selected period. How do I disable an existing event in the Calendar?
To disable an existing event in the Calendar, after identifying it in the Events & Holidays bar above the room types in the Calendar, you can click on it to open the event's customization panel.
By clicking on Edit in the panel that opens, you can then press Disable (or Delete for Custom Events) in the top right to deactivate it.
The event will now appear in gray in the Calendar to indicate that it is no longer influencing your prices.
To re-enable it, repeat the same steps above, but this time click on Restore.
